Microchipping

Losing your dog or cat can be devastating! Placing a microchip can give you peace of mind and may save your pet from not returning home. After placing the chip we register it nationally so if your pet is found, your contact information will be easily found too.

We provide microchip implantation and registration using Homeagain microchips. It is an out patient procedure (or a quick and easy process done in the office) in order to ensure your pets are linked back to you when lost. It is not a GPS system, yet your pet will always have your information available to shelters and hospitals when the chip is scanned with a chip reader. Once the chip is placed and registered, you will never have to pay more for your piece of mind again! The microchip is always active and running, but you will need to update your numbers and address if changed. We recommend scanning for the microchip at yearly exams in order to ensure it is still readable.

If you find a pet, we recommend bringing the pet in to be scanned for a chip. You may help in finding this pet’s home if he or she is lost. The chip reader picks up the chips unique number and one of our staff will call the microchip company to retrieve the pet’s information.
