Examination or Physical Exam
The physical examination of your pet is, without a doubt, the most important part of any visit to your veterinarian. A physical exam should be done annually, at a minimum, on healthy young and middle aged pets and more frequently on geriatric or pets with chronic conditions. Even in what appear to be completely healthy pets, veterinarians have the experience and ability to recognize subtle abnormalities that, if left alone, can sometimes become more serious without recognition and treatment. Most veterinary hospitals send out reminder cards, texts, or emails when your pet’s annual examination is due. The bottom line is: get them in! They’re worth it, and their health depends on it.
